I’m kidding!   I’m not sure I can think of anyone I’ve ever known whose talent and ego are in such inverse proportion to each other.  That is,  for someone so gifted my wife has a very grounded sense of self and has absolutely no interest in putting on airs or being the center of attention . . . at all.  And yet, tonight when a bunch of her RTG buddies were in the audience,  I felt like I was married to an American Idol finalist.   They were falling over themselves praising her for her work in this show – and rightfully so – and what sealed the deal was when I had to help her get her flowers into the car.  I felt like I was married to a star, and it is so neat to see my wife have this opportunity to shine in the spotlight.  She sounds absolutely gorgeous in both “Send in the Clowns” and “Losing my Mind” – shows some comedic chops in “Could I leave you”  and “Barcelona” –    and some superb theatricality in “I’m Still Here” and delivers the goods night after night, making it look mighty easy.   I am proud of her – and happy for her –  and glad for once to be the person carrying the flowers to the car.
