I am so glad that my long-time voice student Mike Anderle was back for this year’s Sing Along Messiah. This recitative and aria is a real tour de force for any bass-baritone – particularly for the way in which it demands both smooth lyrical line and fiery fiortura. And the recitative must be delivered with a real sense of drama. I’m very proud of Mike for his performance, which was even better than what he delivered last year.
