In anticipation of this coming weekend’s Christmas Festival at Carthage,  I’m going to post a couple of my own favorite moments.  This one comes from December 1999 – which is back in the days when applause was allowed.   This is how the concert began-  with the men of the Carthage Choir singing from the back balcony.  The three soloists are Jason Aaron,  Nick Barootian, and Carl Lawrenz.   What a thrill to stand in front of this amazing group of guys.  The memory of this really makes me smile.

Lyrics:
1) There’s a star in the East on Christmas Morn.  RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW.

It will lead to the place where the Savior’s born.  RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW.

Leave your sheep and leave your rams.  RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW.

Leave your ewes and leave your lambs.  RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW.

2)  If you take good heed to the angel’s words: RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW-

You’ll forget your flock …. You’ll forget your herds.   RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW.

Follow.  Follow.  RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW.

Follow the Star to Bethlehem.  RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW.

3)   (by me)  If the journey is long, if you’re traveled far ….

RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW ….

Keep your eyes on the bright and shining star…..

Rise Up RISE UP Rise Up RISE UP Rise Up RISE UP SHEPHERD AND FOLLOW!
