It was an incredible thrill for me to speak with actor Alan Alda, even though I was never an especially rabid fan of the television series M*A*S*H*.  Despite my mixed feelings about the show,  I certainly admired Mr. Alda’s impressive abilities as an actor and director,  and the fact that he had been so richly and frequently honored by his peers (with multiple Emmys among his many awards) spoke volumes about his gifts as well as his character.  I fully expected him to be a nice person,  but I was not prepared for how easy the interview turned out to be, once my almost crippling case of butterflies subsided.  The occasion of my conversation with him was a trip he was about to make to speak at Alverno College.  Our focus was on his newly revised memoir, which remains one of the best celebrity memoirs I have ever read.

The official Morning Show archive is housed on the station’s website,  wgtd.org.  It is there that you can listen to nearly all of the Morning Show interviews, in their entirety,  that have aired over the last several years.
