I’ve had the privilege of speaking with best-selling author Buzz Bissinger on two previous occasions, but I was especially thrilled to be able to speak with him – at a great length – about his most famous book, “Friday Night Lights,” which has just been re-released in a special 25th anniversary edition. The book- which spawned both a major motion picture and a television series of the same name- chronicles one season of high school football in Odessa, Texas – where the focus on football is incredibly ferocious, often to the detriment of the students involved. In this particular portion of our conversation, Bissinger is talking about several of the young athletes who figure very prominently in the book.
